Blackwell Epiphany has been updated to Version 1.1!

Hi all. The long awaited update to Blackwell Epiphany is finally here. The latest version includes the following changes:

  • “Softly, softly” achievement can now be properly activated.
  • Fixed bug in conversation with Jim Peebles where you could be stuck talking to him with no way to progress or exit the conversation.
  • Fixed bug where you could download the Trollgate app before you knew about it, breaking the sequence of events in Emil’s office.
  • Removed duplicate Joey when he reports back to Rosa after finding the ghost in the gym.
  • Removed duplicate images of Kendra and Mary when certain animations are played.
  • Fixed bug where Rosa could end up in the wrong outfit, which caused a crash.
  • Fixed crash when Rosa left the snowy balcony on her own while Tanya is following Joey.
  • Improved response for asking Heather about Tanya.
  • Solved tweening glitch which caused “Call” button to occasionally be added invisibly in the bottom right of the screen in the first flashback, causing a crash.
  • Maggie’s parole number is now only added once.
  • Maggie can no longer be identified before meeting her.

We took extra care to ensure that the patch does not invalidate save games. So if you are in the midst of playing and want to update, you don’t have to worry about starting over.

Thanks much!

Blackwells 1-3 now available on the App Store

blackwelliod

Slowly but surely, we are porting our entire catalog to everything we can think of. And now Blackwell Legacy, Blackwell Unbound, and Blackwell Convergence are now fully playable on the iPad and iPhone! So if you ever wanted a ghost in your pocket, your day has arrived:

Blackwell 1: Legacy
When Rosa Blackwell’s aunt Lauren dies after twenty years in a coma, Rosa thinks the worst is over. This all changes when Joey Mallone, a sardonic ghost from the 1930s, blows into her life and tells her that she is a medium with a family legacy to uphold (whether she likes it or not). And when a series of suicides occur at a local university, Rosa — still coming to terms with her new responsibilities — finds herself an unwilling detective in this gruesome mystery.

Blackwell 2: Unbound
The year is 1973. The sound of a lone, ethereal saxophone drifts over the Roosevelt Island promenade, while a series of accidents plague a midtown construction site. The citizens of Manhattan take no notice of these events, let alone think they are connected. Embittered medium Lauren Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone are the only ones who believe that there is anything strange going on, and they are the only ones who can stop an enigmatic killer from striking again…

Blackwell 3: Convergence
A new film opens to rave reviews, despite its bloody history. A beautiful uptown office remains unoccupied, despite its prime location. A downtown artist berates himself for selling out, while a Wall Street investor congratulates himself on a job well done. Just normal life in the big city? Or is something more sinister binding these events together? Bizarre connections are a dime a dozen for the Blackwell family, but just how far back to they go? Medium Rosa Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone are about to find out.

Android, Mac and Linux versions will follow very soon!

Wadjet Eye Games Will Release A Golden Wake PC Adventure This Fall

Travel back to the Roaring Twenties in a point-and-click epic from indie developer Grundislav Games

NEW YORK – June 26, 2014 – The Roaring Twenties: a bygone era of glitz, glamour, and promise. In Coral Gables—a booming housing development near Miami, Florida—the real estate market is taking off and even an ordinary guy like Alfie Banks has a chance to strike it rich. But with the mob on his back, the Great Depression on the horizon, and the Sunshine State’s idyllic waterfront only a hurricane away from total devastation, Alfie’s quest will not be an easy one in A Golden Wake, a new point-and-click adventure game coming to PC this fall.

Developed by Francisco Gonzalez of Grundislav Games (Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator) and published by indie powerhouse Wadjet Eye Games (Blackwell Epiphany, Resonance, Gemini Rue), A Golden Wake is a nostalgic adventure that spans two dramatic decades in American history. Set in the era of Gatsby with a plot that includes real people, locations, and events, A Golden Wake has story- and puzzle-driven gameplay, retro-styled pixel art, and a point-and-click interface reminiscent of classics like King’s Quest and Monkey Island. Alfie’s power of persuasion will play a unique role as he analyzes other characters’ attitudes and weaknesses to figure out the best way to approach them.

“Having grown up in Miami, I wanted to tell the story of an era that’s usually depicted in New York or Chicago,” says A Golden Wake’s designer Francisco Gonzalez of his decision to set a game during the Jazz Age. “Miami’s land boom and bust during the ’20s and ’30s represents a fascinating slice of our recent history, and I was able to incorporate a lot of real people and events into the narrative of this everyman going after the American Dream.”

“I first met Francisco in the early 2000s, back when we were both scrappy freeware developers. Since then, I’ve watched him move from strength to strength and I was so happy when he made the leap to commercial development. I feel very honored to be partnering up with him now,” says Dave Gilbert, founder of Wadjet Eye Games. “As for A Golden Wake, I just love it. This game a fun, poignant romp through 1920s-era Miami that is both meticulously researched and perfectly relevant to our current times.”

A Golden Wake will release in Q3 2014 as a PC download. View the new trailer, screenshots, and more game details at the official website: http://www.goldenwake.com
