Blackwell Epiphany: Official Announcement!

So if you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you probably know already that we’re working on the fifth (and last) game in the Blackwell series. We have avoided making any kind of official announcement. Until now, that is!

Blackwell Epiphany

A dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper.

This wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last.

The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful – and so malevolent – that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.

Gemini Rue – now available on EVERYTHING!

You asked for it, you got it. Gemini Rue is now available on, well, just about everything. You can now nab it on PC, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android – and they are all making their debut on the Humble Bundle!

What is the Humble Bundle?
For those not in-the-know, the Humble Bundle is a monthly collection of games which you can buy for whatever you want to pay. Pay one penny or a million – you get them all. This month’s bundle includes:

– Gemini Rue (duh)
– Little Inferno
– AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome (I hope I spelled that right)
– Jack Lumber
– Hero Academy
– Anomaly 2

So that’s six great indie games for whatever price you want to pay! We’ve been a fan of the Humble Bundle for a long time, so it’s a great honor to be included.

The Shivah: Kosher Edition now available for pre-order!

Pre-order it now and get 20% off!

So earlier this year we ported Gemini Rue to iOS, and it was reasonably successful. It was, however, a collosal undertaking. Eight months of fulltime work for Janet (who actually went to school for programming and is much smarter than I am). Since we just had a baby, we decided our next port would be The Shivah – the very first game we ever made. It’s short, and reasonably straightforward. So we figured it would be a quick and easy port.

Sadly – NO! The Shivah was made seven years ago. This was before games on iOS phones was a thing. Before even iOS phones! The game was made with very tiny sprites – sprites that were impossible to see on a phone.

So what to do?

WE REMAKE THE WHOLE DARN THING.

The Shivah: Kosher Edition will be available for Windows, Steam and iOS on November 21st. And until than, you can pre-order the PC version for 20% off! Steam keys, as usual, are included.

It’s all bright and shiny!

So you’ve might have noticed a lot of changes around here. This entire website has gotten a facelift! Aside from the obvious aesthetic changes, we have several new features. Including:

  • Integration with social media. See those “follow” and “like” icons up there? Feel free to click them.
  • We’ve partnered with the Humble Store! It’s now easier than ever to buy our games, and all your purchases are archived on the Humble Store. Never lose a download link!
  • Updated fanart page! If you have a piece of artwork that you’d like for us to feature on this site, you can send it directly to us with a click of a button.
  • We have a FAQ! It only took us seven years.
  • You can now comment on these front page posts! So go ahead and click the “comment” button.
  • Some new features planned are including bundles of all our games, and integrating ALL our customers past purchases into the new store database.

There’s more, so take a look around. We’re still in the early stages so I’m sure there are some bugs here and there. We are gearing up for a big announcement tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Gemini Rue – now on the App Store!

igrue-banner

For the last eight months, Janet has been hard at work porting Gemini Rue to the iPad, iPhone, and iPad touch. The iOS version has been extensively optimized and overhauled for touch screen play with larger in-game icons and text, comfortable “point and tap” controls, a hotspot finder to minimize pixel hunting, and a redesigned combat system.

And it’s $3.99 for the first two weeks!

This is our VERY first foray into the world of mobile, and the App Store in general. So we would really appreciate it if you could take a moment and rate the game for us. Things like ratings, reviews, and a clicking that “like” button can go a long way to make sure that this game is a success. And if it IS a success, it will help us get the rest of our games onto the App Store that much faster!

(Note: sadly, Apple does not allow us to give away free copies. So if you purchased Gemini Rue on the PC and want to play it on your iPad or iPhone, you will have to purchase it again)

Primordia has launched!

primordia-slide

It’s here! Primordia has now launched and is available for purchase.

We are extending the DVD offer until this Sunday, so if you have been on the fence about buying it, there’s still some time to decide.

On behalf of myself, Wadjet Eye, and the guys at Wormwood Studios – we hope you enjoy the game!
